Rapidly outgrowing its existing facility, the church congregation rallied together to make a dream a reality: a beautiful new church that will enable them to meet, worship, and better meet the needs of the community around them. This 18,500 sq. ft. multi-story church facility designed by architect, Mark Yarrington, of Yarrington Architectural Group, is located at 176 Commercial Ave in New Brunswick, NJ. In 2015, the church leadership brought on Mark Yarrington of Yarrington Architectural Group to act as project architect. Recognizing Fenton’s church building history and long-standing relationship, Mark Yarrington introduced Fenton Construction to Pastor Luis Gonzales, the church pastor. From that point on, Fenton Construction was chosen as the General Contractor and worked collaboratively with the design team coming up with value engineering options, budget estimates, preliminary schedules, and feasibility studies. After evaluating the site logistics, size, scope, and nature of the project, it was decided that the building would be built using conventional wood trusses and structural steel with a GAF shingled roof. One of the key factors that contributed to the success of this project was a quality working relationship with the local city engineer, twp. inspectors, and building/engineering department. The church building provides a much larger and improved space for the growing congregation to utilize in service to God and in service to the local community. The location was once the site of buildings and a basketball court, long abandoned and overgrown with grass and trees. Consequently, the church congregation and leadership is overjoyed at the brand new look and functionality of the building. Not only will this building help them, but it will provide a significant improvement to the overall community.
